Music Technology and A Cappella Master's Thesis

Hello Everyone. I am currently studying to get my Master's Degree in Music Technology at the University of Limerick in Ireland. As I'm trying to form my thesis statement, I want to involve a cappella and I am looking for ideas or gaps to solve in the a cappella field that will do the following: 1) Promote a cappella music. 2) Be worthwhile to explore and to further our own knowledge of a cappella music (like I said, possibly filling any gaps that exist and need to/should be explored). 3) Use music technology to do so.

The astonishing, magnificent Harmony Sweepstakes

Contemporary a cappella would not be what it is today without the Harmony Sweepstakes.  Do you have any idea how influential the competition is?  How vital it has been to the growth and dissemination of contemporary a cappella? What started out as a regional festival 25 years ago has become an annual national competition.  Just the longevity is reason to take note.  25 years.

So, we didn't win. Time for sour grapes and 'we-got-robbed's and 'i-screwed-that-part-up's, right? Rattle off the shoulda-woulda-couldas just out of earshot. Find reasons why we were better than the winners...? Right? So, we didn't win. So what?!
