Harmony Finals 2009 - A Fan's perspective

I sat on this review for about a week too long, so hopefully it will still find curious eyes.  I was not sure what I wanted to say about the experience as this was my first time watching the Finals but my second review of a Harmony Sweepstakes show.  I feel it pointless to say "this group was great", "this group was fantastic", etc.

A Cappella Records Opens for Business

It is my pleasure to announce the launch of A Cappella Records. A Cappella Records (ACR) is the first all-digital record label for a cappella music.  ACR promotes a cappella artists and provides access to legally distributing music in international, digital marketplaces like iTunes and Amazon MP3. By taking care of licensing and royalty payments, ACR makes cover songs safe and easy to deal with, and allows artists to focus on what they do best: music.

The astonishing, magnificent Harmony Sweepstakes

Contemporary a cappella would not be what it is today without the Harmony Sweepstakes.  Do you have any idea how influential the competition is?  How vital it has been to the growth and dissemination of contemporary a cappella? What started out as a regional festival 25 years ago has become an annual national competition.  Just the longevity is reason to take note.  25 years.
