SoJam!

Writing this from my hotel room, 3:25 am in Durham, NC.  Finished up an a-MAY-zing day of SoJam: great classes (is it just me or do the college kids just get smarter every year?).  Superb concert: Emory U. singers (winners of last night's competition) opened, Eclipse was fantasmic (never thought I'd enjoy white dudes rapping so much), Matt Murphy and Lilli Lewis were enchanting with their team-live-looping, and the House Jacks ripped my soul out through my ears.  They were just RAWK. This event is RAWK.

Multimedia Review: The House Jacks, 7/10/09

This past Friday’s House Jacks concert in Cambridge, MA was part of a 3-date east coast tour, a little tour-lette not uncommon for the House Jacks these days. In the interest of full disclosure, I will say up front that I have seen them several times over the years, that they are one of my favorite bands (not “a cappella bands”, but bands, period), and also friends.
