The 2005 movie "Junebug" includes a trio (one of the main characters and two others) singing a cappella the circa 1880 hymn "Softly and Tenderly", and quite beautifully. The extras on the DVD include the rehearsing of the song and the filming of that scene, done live. http://www.sonyclassics.com/junebug. The people have spoken, and for the second year in a row, an a cappella group wins the Oreo jingle contest! Barbershop quartet A Cappella Gold attracted the most votes from the public throughout the summer and won the $10,000 prize.

The Coastal Chords Quartet sang the national anthem August 20th at the Tampa Bay Devil Rays game at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL. The group also sang "God Bless America" before the seventh inning.
