You know at Kettering Fairmont High School we LOVE our a cappella. We are also committed to the education of as many kids as possible... and some of them find it tough in this economic climate to get the lessons they need to excel. On Friday, March 12, SONOS and HeeBeeBGs are going to make one audience and many scholarship recipients very happy.

Please come out to Kettering Fairmont High School (a suburb of Dayton, Ohio) and support these great groups who are supporting a great cause. All the details are below. Thanks!

NATIONAL A CAPPELLA GROUP TO PERFORM AT

KETTERING FAIRMONT HIGH SCHOOL

Concert to benefit the Fairmont High School Music Scholarship Fund

Kettering, OH – The Los Angeles–based a cappella sextet, Sonos, will perform at 7:30pm March 12, 2010 at the Kettering Fairmont High School Performing Arts Center Auditorium, 3301 Shroyer Rd. The March concert will also feature Bowling Green University’s HeeBeeBGs.

Sonos emerged in 2009 from the college a cappella scene with the aim of turning the a cappella genre on its head. On their debut CD release, “SonoSings”, Sonos reinvents Radiohead, Bon Iver & Fleet Foxes and dazzles with unique twists on the mainstream. With its album complete, the group is prepared to bring its one–of–a–kind vocal blend to the world — and plans to pepper its tour schedule with venues like performing–arts centers, colleges and even living rooms. But whether they’re in a courtyard, a club or a concert hall, Sonos will always seek that intangible, mysterious, intimate fusion of timeless tones and modern meaning.

Bowling Green University’s a cappella group HeeBeeBGs formed in 2007 and began performing mini-concerts for sororities and other student groups. They took day trips to perform at local area high schools to share the spirit of a capella music. In 2009 the HeeBeeBGs placed 4th in the International Championship of College A cappella and also received the award for Best Choreography.

Reserved seats are $10 and go on sale Monday, February 22. Doors open at 7pm. For ticket information, visit www.ticketmaster.com or call the Fairmont High School box office at (937) 499-2647.

The family friendly concert will benefit the Fairmont Music Scholarship Fund which is looking to raise money to benefit all Fairmont music students. The Scholarship Fund is part of the Kettering Performing Arts Parents Association’s continuing effort to support Kettering Fairmont High School music students and to enhance the high-quality performing arts programs at the high school.

The Fairmont PAC Auditorium can only accept cash or checks for tickets purchased day of the show.
