LIKE an accused who anxiously awaits a verdict from the jury, Conquerors, one of Bulawayo’s recognised acappella groups, are keeping their fingers crossed that the South African record label which was auditioning them last December will pass them the envelope.

On 13 December last year Conquerors revealed to Sunday Leisure that a reputable South African record label which cannot be named for now was interested in having them under its wings in the event that they came first in auditions that involved about 500 groups.

Conquerors, an all male Seventh Day Adventist band, let slip that after a thorough screening exercise, they are still in the race against a South African group.

In an interview with Sunday Leisure last Friday, Thabani Ndlovu, the band’s spokesperson said on 19 December personnel from the SA music label were in the country to watch them performing live.
