The Coffee Gallery Backstage is a 49 seat show room connected to a sweet little coffee house surprisingly called, "The Coffee Gallery."  The Backstage is a listening room with a nice sound system, good lights, comfortable seating and a killer atmosphere. Sixth Wave had standing room only last time there so please call right away to make reservations. At 49 seats, it fills up quick!
Kol Zimra is the leading interactive event Jewish a cappella group. We seek youthful, energetic singers with a good ear for improvising popular songs. All vocal ranges being sought plus vocal percussion. KZ has a growing pool of singers and we hire on a per gig basis, as needed. Rehearsal is minimal and often just a short while before we begin. As such, KZ is not very demanding of your time and is a great way to earn extra income as your schedule allows. Even if you're a member of an a cappella group you can do KZ. Knowledge of Hebrew a plus but not necessary; some of our best singers learn phonetically. Knowledge of pop music (50's to today) a plus. More information: www.KolZimra.com, gorf@KolZimra.com

Seeking additional members, all parts.   This established group of mixed voices, soprano, alto, tenor, & bass is looking to expand to a maximum of 8 voices.  Performs mostly a cappella, occasionally with jazz combo. Hosts a monthly a cappella evening of music, and performs for both community events and private functions.  The group also performs in December as costumed Christmas carolers.   Members must have the prior experience singing a cappella, ability to memorize music, have a good ear for close harmony and rhythms, have a pleasant personality, and good stage presence. Rehearsals are weekly in north Orange County. Please call Glenn at 714-403-6524; visit

The SPIZZWINKS(?) of Yale will tour in the SoCal area starting January 2, 2010 in Los Angeles, and seek gigs throughout Southern California until January 10th. Interested schools or churches (or other) should contact Daniel Turcza, their Business Manager, via email at spizzwinks@yale.edu or at

.  I’ve seen these guys perform and they are classic collegiate fun.

Send your gigs, audition calls, CD release party dates, ticket offers, etc to: socalcasa@earthlink.net by Wednesday September 30 at 6 pm, for a newsletter that will go out that night.
