Boston-Born Syncopation To Perform At Esplanade
BOSTON (WBZ) ― A local quartet has been invited to perform at the Boston Pops fireworks spectacular. Syncopation, a group of jazz singers who also play instruments, will sing U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" and "On A Clear Day", made popular by Barbara Streisand.
Syncopation was founded by Lee Abe in 2002 when he was a student at Berklee College of Music. Lee sings Bass and also plays trombone. Christine Fawson is another original member who now teaches at Berklee and sings Alto. Dave Scott is also a teacher and sings Tenor. And Aubrey Logan is still a student a Berklee, a junior who sings Soprano.
They are a unique group because they are singers who turn non-jazz songs into jazz masterpieces and are terrific trumpet and trombone players who have mastered the mix.
