Going in, I was not quite sure what to expect, and I was very surprised. I guess this is what you would call a contemporary ballet, but all of the music is performed by a cappella sensation Face. The harmony of these guys is amazing, and they seem to get better every time I see them. The performance starts with Cody Qualls from Face singing the song “Sexual Healing” to a beautiful young lady on stage, and I could tell Cody was definitely enjoying this. If you attend this show, and I highly recommend that you do, you will hear some great music, like: “Harder to Breathe”, “Lady in Red”, “Pink Panther”, “Short Skirt Long Jacket”, “Safety Dance”, “Not The Crime” and “I’m All Right”. Combined with the fabulous dancing skills of members of Ballet Nouveau Colorado, this is a great event for the entire family. My 2 year old was even dancing in the aisle. What was really exciting was how much fun the dancers were having. The dancers interacted very well with Face and you could tell they were all enjoying themselves. This is a world class production.
As one member of Face put it, “It’s like watching a music video live”.
I can only hope that Face.2.Face gets the national recognition it deserves and a lot more people get to experience this event. Just in case, though, you might want to book your tickets fast and get to Colorado.
