CASA - The Contemporary A Capella Society

The Musical Island Boys are a barbershop quartet from Wellington, New Zealand. In 2002, they won the NZ Secondary Schools Barbershop Competition which in turn enabled them to enter the Collegiate Barbershop Competition in Kentucky, USA in 2004. They acheieved 3rd place, both there and the next year in Salt Lake City (USA). However, it was in 2006 when their hard work as a quartet paid off - they won 1st Place Gold! This is the first time a quartet outside the U.S. has won a gold medal in the Collegiate Compeition, and the Musical Island Boys hope other groups from other countries continue the trend.
