CASA - The Contemporary A Capella Society

DMCice is the senior of two auditioned jazz choirs at Daniel McIntyre Collegiate Institute in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They rehearse three times a week, and enjoy a variety of styles from swing to latin to bebop to pop to gospel. They have been recognized for their excellence both provincially and nationally, consistently earning invitations to MusicFest Canada at the local festival. In 2000, under the direction of Eric Hemmerling, the group travelled to Toronto for MusicFest Canada and earned a gold medal for superior performance. The group repeated that feat in 2006 in Ottawa. They are an active group, performing frequently around town, and they sure love to sing!
