ABOUT THE ICCA

The ICCA is a production of Varsity Vocals, an educational organization dedicated to providing opportunities for scholastic a cappella ensembles to showcase their work, with the ultimate goal of promoting a lifelong interest in vocal music. The competition, currently in its tenth season, presents an incredible lineup of 30 collegiate vocal music concerts, bringing together more than 1,500 college a cappella singers and thousands of their fans worldwide.  In the end, only seven groups representing the South, New England, MidAtlantic, Northeast, Midwest, West, and European regions will advance to the finals, held on April 29th, 2006 at the Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall. There, they will compete for cash prizes and the title of International Champion.

ABOUT THE BHS

The Barbershop Harmony Society is celebrating its 60th Birthday in the Northeast this year.  Even though we have a reputation for being “old guys”, it wasn't that long ago that this truly American art form was flourishing and now in the days of electronics and commercial music, faces the possibility of fading away.  The members of the Society are proud to have been a part of the resurgence of vocal music in our schools and we expect to continue to grow as leaders in this effort.  We are grateful for organizations like CASA and Varsity Vocals that work to find ways to collaborate our efforts in activities like this so that we link tradition with the future.

Varsity Vocals and The Barbershop Harmony Society share the same mission to encourage people to choose singing as a lifelong activity.  We truly believe that music, especially singing, is a key factor to living an enriched life. Congratulations to all of the contestants for their achievements; we are grateful for the music that they will share with us.  Please join us for this special show, and thank you in advance for supporting vocal arts in your community.  We all want all little more harmony, don't we?
