The 18 Wheelers
The 18 Wheelers hail from The Wheeler School in Providence, Rhode Island. Performing everything from 15th century Renaissance madrigals to contemporary a cappella, they enjoy sharing their music with other high schools in the Northeast as well as singing to raise awareness and funding for non-profits such as Meals on Wheels, Ronald McDonald House, Rhode Island Hospice, The RI Community FoodBank and various scholarship initiatives throughout the state.
In 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2007, they won tracks on the Best of High School A Cappella (BOHSA) compilation. At ICHSA, International Championship of High School A Cappella, 2006 semifinals, they were awarded best choreography and best vocal percussion while placing second overall. Alums of The 18 Wheelers sing with Yale’s Mixed Company, NYU’s APC Rhythm, and The Chattertocks of Brown University.
