Aqui Jazz
The AquiJazz Jazz Choir from ESMAE (Music & Show Arts Superior School), started in October 2001, founded by Barbara Francke. With 24 singers (mostly students of the school) it has been successfully presenting itself in the most important theatres in Portugal, as well as at international Festivals.
Recently played at the ouverture program of Casa da Musica, Festival de Musica de Aveiro, FIMU Festival in Belfort France, Jazz'in Tondela, DouroJazz 2005 and the Aarhus Vocal Festival in Denmark. AquiJazz has a repertoire of several styles beneath the Jazz stamp, from complex vocal acappella arrangements to tracks with a jazz combo, and even soloist interventions by some of the members of the choir.
