Even though they are not as popular now as they were back then, Boyz II Men still remain one of the best R&B vocal groups in the world. After releasing a remake album, "Throwback Vol. 1," last year, they are coming to Seoul for a promotion run, said officials of the joint concert organizer, My Concert.

Big Mama, the female quartet, are very different from other Korean female singer groups in terms of appearance and powerful voices.

Instead of depending on superficial looks or dances, Big Mama's members have brushed up their voice skills to blend their singing into harmonious sound which overwhelms audiences by their energy and passion. That is why tickets for Big Mama's first national concert tour this year are already sold out.

"Boyz II Men and Big Mama will sing over 30 songs in total. The two sides are now consulting what songs to sing," said Jeong Chi-young, the director of the joint concert.

Big Mama's agency YG Entertainment said it's spending 1 billion won ($950,000) to bring in a professional Japanese stage and audio engineering team.

Concertgoers should note that not all the members of Boyz II Men will be at the joint concert. Mike McCay, the bass of the group who is remembered for carrying a stick on stage and doing low bass narrations in the middle of songs, has not been performing since last year because of health problems, organizing officials said.

Ticket reservations are already being taken so fans should hurry up and book to avoid being disappointed.

"The Real Harmony: Big Mama & Boyz II Men Joint Concert" will be at Jamsil Gymnasium on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 6 at 6 p.m.

Ticket Prices range from 55,000 won to 99,000 won. For further information, call (02) 1544-1555.
