Acappellago, led by music director, Dennis R. Smith, announces that tickets for its upcoming March concerts are currently on sale. Acappellago will present two performances of its thirteenth annual spring concert. The first performance of “Escape to…Where the River Meets the Sea” will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 7:30 pm in the Event Hall at Mayslake Peabody Estate, 1717 W. 31st Street, Oak Brook. This program will be repeated on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 4:00 pm at the Congregational Church of Batavia, 21 S. Batavia Avenue, across from the Batavia Public Library.

“Escape to…Where the River Meets the Sea” focuses on the rich choral literature celebrating mankind’s relationship with the water. The program features many folk songs including “Loch Lomond” and “Just as the Tide was Flowing” from the rich English choral tradition, songs from our American roots such as “Shenandoah,” “Deep River,” and a stunning setting of the Weaver’s favorite “Healing River.” Music from popular literature include “Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay,” “Old Man River” and Queen’s ever campy “Seaside Rendezvous.” Other exciting gems on the program is the Chicago area premiere of “Where go the Boats” by Dale Trumbore and a forgotten setting of the Illinois state song “By thy Rivers Gently Flowing” arranged by choral great Norman Luboff.

Single tickets for each of Acappellago’s concerts are $17/$15 for students and seniors and are available via the Internet by visiting: www.Acappellago.org or by mail: PO Box 749, Westmont, IL 60559. For more information about any Acappellago event, visit: www.Acappellago.org. Tickets may also be ordered by phone: (708)484-3797.

Acappellago is supported in part by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency, and its generous patrons.
