The UK is known for a rich and strong choral tradition. The “ a cappella” thing, is relatively new. The Voice Festival UK is currently the only festival with a competition for a cappella in the country. Created in 2008 by Alexandra Godfree and Simon Bello, it was initially based around a collegiate competition, but two years they add a high school category. And this year, we saw the first ever Community Competition as part of VFUK, and the London regional heats for the collegiate category. It was an important step, and a wonderful day! Kevin and I were there all day, taking workshops, masterclasses, and finally, adjudicating in the evening. VFUK deserves its own blog some day, but for now, here's a little taste of what happened, and wonderful Alex.

Many thanks to my Twitter buddy and brand new friend-in-real-life, Robert-Jon Eckhardt, for making this video and capturing some of this day. And for the Dutch Waffles. Yum.
