PLAN AHEAD for Workshops and Concerts:
The East Coast Collegiate A Cappella Invasion is on its way!
MIXED COMPANY of Yale will be touring California from January 3rd to 10th, 2009, with plans to be in the Southern California area from the 3rd to the 7th.
We have entertained a range of audience sizes from classrooms to stadiums and our sets last anywhere from 1/2 hour to 2 hours. We also bring our singing to the classroom, guest teaching music classes and assisting eager music and choir students with a variety of vocal pursuits and challenges. Our workshops for student choirs include warm-ups, blending, pitch, and tone exercises, and we teach a basic arrangement of one of the songs (for example, a popular choice is Seasons of Love from the hit musical, "Rent") in our repertoire to perform together with the students of your choir. After the performance and/or workshop, we provide a question and answer session to field any questions on life at Yale, our college admissions experiences, and our time in an a cappella group.
As for our rates, for most schools and venues, we ask for $650 for a 40 minute set and $500 for a 30 minute set. Sets shorter and longer in length can certainly be requested, and of course, our fees are negotiable with our business manager if your school has special circumstances. Our diverse repertoire has offerings from jazz, Broadway, pop-rock, soul, and oldies favorites. All of these different options make our offerings very flexible.
