This tradition has continued throughout the years and these two sisters have a long history of singing performances. The siblings, only 18 months apart, have sung in Brigham Young University's internationally acclaimed Singers choir together and toured all over the east coast and Canada. Laura is a mother of a bouncing baby boy and Emily is an accomplished Irish dancer.
Coming from a family of seven children and great musical talent, these sisters will wow you with their harmonizing abilities. We present for you the opportunity to hear them perform "Pie Jesu" by Andrew Lloyd Webber (See http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=MKprxGFQrxA). Typically Laura sings the higher part and Emily the lower, but in this video they decided to switch "just for fun," since both are sopranos. The video was filmed in BYU's music facility, providing a perfect atrium of reverb. Their purpose for making this video is to compete in the 2008 Sweet Adelines Singing Contest, hosted by YouTube.com. The sisters' crystal clear clarity and perfect pitch make them seem as one voice and many have wondered if more than one person is actually singing when the sisters come together in unison.
Laura, in her free time, re-records Disney songs and places her voice to the original movies. When asked what Laura would do if she won the competition, and in suit her half of the $1,000 reward, she informed us she would buy recording equipment for a home-based studio. "My desire is to rediscover the classics of the 40's and 50's. There's so much music that nobody listens to anymore."
