In 2006 Fausto Caravati and Alessandro Cadario, two musicians entirely devoted to choral and vocal a-cappella music, created Maybe6, around a shared need to do something in the field of pop-cappella and a few occasional beers…They were soon joined by 4 of the most eclectic voices in the Italian a-cappella world: Tony Guerrieri, Luca Giugno, Tommaso Ferrandina and Krishna Nagaraja. Since the very beginning Maybe6 has been working to spread Italian pop music through original arrangements employing voice as the only “instrument”. Its trademark are dazzling contrapunctal settings which make every song a “madrigal”, stressing the power of the meaning and the sound of the words without losing the energy of a vocal bass line and a vocal percussion: this results in an experimental style in which a 5 part fugue can be found in the middle of a rock song…. Maybe6 wants to bring the classical and pop world closer in order to make a-cappella music nearer to every kind of audience, including young people who listen to pop music everyday and therefore know the material very well: hence the school projects consisting in workshops, lessons and concerts all in one!
