Ithacappella, also known as the Ithaca College Men’s Chorus (ICMC), was founded in 1996 by four music students with a love for singing and a passion for performing. Since its inception, Ithacappella has grown to become one of the premier all male collegiate a cappella groups in the world, singing everything from traditional choral and barbershop tunes to current radio hits.

The group has competed numerous times in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella including back-to-back appearances in the Finals between 2008 and 2009. In the 2008 finals, Ithacappella was named Best Male Ensemble and received special awards for Outstanding Soloists and Outstanding Vocal Percussion.

Ithacappella has also shared the stage with the Grammy-nominated rock group Incubus, performing the band's hit song “Dig” for thousands of fans. With appearances on American Idol, CNN, The Price Is Right, and PerezHilton.com, the group continues to grow and evolve as contemporary a cappella breaks into the mold of mainstream music.

In December of 2011, Ithacappella released their sixth studio album, "Off The Hook," which featured songs such as Owl City’s "Fireflies," Lady Gaga’s "Telephone," and "When Love Takes Over" by Kelly Rowland. Since then, the album was nominated for numerous awards, including Best Collegiate All Male Album, Best Male Soloist, and Song of the Year in the 2011 Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARAs). More recently, the song "Halo" was featured on the "Best of College A Cappella" compilation CD put out by Varsity Vocals in 2012, and in January of 2013 the Recorded A Cappella Review Board selected some of the songs off of the album as their "Picks of 2012." The album has been widely recognized as one of the best all-male albums produced in 2011.

Additionally, Ithacappella’s Katy Perry collaboration with Ithaca College’s all-female group Premium Blend, "Firework," has to date raised over $3,000 for the Trevor Project. In 2012, the group released their cover of Lady Gaga’s "Born This Way," working with Premium Blend, Ithaca College's mixed group IC Voicestream, and professional a cappella group Pentatonix to produce the single. This very special collaboration brought together these four groups to record and perform Lady Gaga’s anthem to benefit the Born This Way Foundation and the Alli Forney Center in New York City. Both of these singles can be found on iTunes.

In addition to 4 exciting main stage concerts during the school year, the group also enjoys bringing its talent to schools in the form of interactive singing workshops designed to educate and inspire musicians of all ages. The group has performed in a number of different venues and continues to reach out and take advantage of exciting performance opportunities. Though the sound of the group has evolved over the years, one thing remains constant: its dedication to putting on high energy, fun shows for the entire family.
