Hor Koca Kolarov

The “KOCA KOLAROV” Youth Choir was founded at the Zrenjanin in 1966. Prof. Mirko BULOVAN becomes the conductor of the choir in 1970 and from this time it begins to participate in festivals and competitions. In beginning, the choir demonstrated its qualities within the country and managed to win the flattering title of triple Yugoslav champions in the category of Youth Choirs (in 1979; 1981; 1983).

Maestro Mirko Bulovan always chooses the repertoire very carefully and highly professionally which includes all the styles: from renaissance, baroque, through classicism and romanticism to modern music. Special attention is paid to particular vocal skills of the choir members whenever a new program is selected as they are all only 15-19 years old. Besides competition programs the choir has performed large vocal-instrumental pieces like the Liturgy of St.John the Silver-tongued of S.Binicki, Missa Brevis of G.P.da Palestrina and W.A.Mozart ; “Weihnachtsoratorium” and “Hohe Messe” J.S.Bach , the Requiem of L.Cherubini , and Missa “In Tempore Belli” of J. Haydn together with the Philharmonic Orchestra from Belgrade and Symphonic Orchestra Radio Television Belgrade. The overwhelming energy, the musicality and the suggestiveness are harmonically entwining in Mirko Bulovan’s artistic personality.
