Fools on the Hill

You may have heard of us, and, if you’re lucky, you may have even seen us perform. We are the Fools on the Hill, the only co-ed a cappella group at the College of the Holy Cross. Our fantastic sound first hit Mount Saint James in 1998, and we’ve been getting stronger ever since. Each year, as we say goodbye to departing members, we hold auditions to find new voices to fill out our group. Right now, Fools is at its biggest ever with 16 members. Every year we arrange, learn, and perform as many as one song every week. Already, the group has released three CDs— in 2001, “Fooling Around,” in 2002, “Random Hookup,” and in 2005, “Singing in Stairwells.” We are planning the release of our next album by 2007. Although we are always accepting gigs, every year we have a few staple performances. These include Family Weekend, the Sanctae Crucis Awards dinner, and Grafton’s Apple Tree Arts benefit. We also love to perform off campus at other schools, as we have done in the past at Stonehill College, Tufts University, Clark University, and WPI.
