OROVILLE — When you combine "original," "imaginative" and "ridiculous," you get "origimagidiculous" and the perfect one-word description of VoicePlay, a five-member a cappella singing and theater group from Florida.
The Oroville Concert Association is bringing the delightful brand of music and entertainment of VoicePlay to the State Theatre for one night only, Sept. 10. Doors open at 7 p.m.; concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $25.
(Note: Due to an error by the group's tour promoter, VoicePlay was promoted under its former name, 42Five. All printed and on-line materials for the Sept. 10 Oroville concert list the group under its former name.)
Since 2002, the five guys of VoicePlay — founders Earl Elkins, Geoff Castellucci and Layne Stein along with Eli Jacobson and Tony Wakim — have created full musical productions with their greatest instruments — their vocal cords. VoicePlay produces all its music vocally performing harmonies, bass and rhythm sections.
