 School starting up – all you music directors, I DARE you to do original music with your group. I know, the establishment will have a royal conniption fit. But you’re surly college students! That’s what you’re s’posed to be in to! Make those old timers quake in their rest home gowns!
Seriously, it’s no harder to write and perform original songs than it was to arrange and perform your first arrangement. Just be original! Think outside the box! Have the guts to try something new and not just rip another tune off the radio.
If you need inspiration as to what can be done, have a listen to the newest podcast – stuffed top to bottom with songs written by (*gasp*) REAL a cappella singers. And then performed a cappella! Zoinks.
