This week, CASA's Bill Hare is attending the Aarhus Vocal Festival in Aarhus, Denmark from May 11-14, 2006. The festival includes concerts from groups: The Real Group, Rajaton, baSix, Vocal Line, Touche, VoxNorth and Vocappella. There will also be workshops, coachings, competitions, and lectures. Bill will be sending back daily reports to us here at CASA.org. So join us for DAY 4, the final day of the 2006 Aarhus Vocal Festival!

It's all coming to an end - Jens Johansen starts the closing concert
ceremony.

Roger Treece shows us all what the participants of the 3 day "Soul,
Grooves, and Circles" workshop. Roger, the only other American in attendance besides myself, used
a pitch pipe to start off the singers. The one thing I noticed about every other group here is that they
all use tuning forks, not the pitch pipes or electronic tone generators we use in North America.

Denmark's Vocapella closed the festival in style - great jazz
harmonies, lots of groove, and even a rockin' vocal guitar solo sung through a kiddie toy
microphone!

As usually happens when the official buildings close, people hang
around and sing outside for a bit. 5 countries represented in this informal circle - this
is what it's all about! (video here)
It's been a great 4 days! Congratulations to Jens,
Henrik, and Svend for putting on such an amazing event!
