"Don't let anyone look down on you because of your youth.''
That olden adage dates back to the early dawn of Christendom, but it applies gingerly to Matthew Oltman, a young Iowan who serves as the musical director of Chanticleer, the San Francisco-based ensemble that's also one of the most respected, decorated and well-traveled a cappella contingents in the nation.
You won't see Oltman waving a baton Saturday at the Summit Chorale's 100th anniversary celebration, at which Chanticleer will be performing, but you will see him front and center as he and his colleagues present their brand-new program, "Wondrous Free.''

Proud of Matthew!
Keep watching for Matt's work! I'm proud to say I was one of his choir directors when he was even younger than he is now! Wish I could say I had something to do with his success, but to be honest, he was already bound for great things when he sat down for that first rehearsal. Way to go Matt!
