CHICAGO, IL. (September 3, 2008) – In the second annual ACAPPELLAFEST, nationally-acclaimed award-winning a cappella groups take the stage at the ever-popular Schaumburg Prairie Center for the Arts in beautiful Schaumburg, IL on Sunday, September 21 at 7:00pm. Tickets are $20 at the door and $15 in advance and for students. Also appearing is legendary singer/writer/arranger Scott Leonard of Rockapella, arguably the most famous contemporary a cappella group in the country.

"ACAPPELLAFEST 2007 was a huge hit and we plan to build on that success in 2008 and for many years to come. Contemporary a cappella is fun, appealing and always relevant -- we strive to show everyone just how great it is." says Jeff Swearingen, co-producer of ACAPPELLAFEST and PR Director of VOCAL CHAOS. "ACAPPELLAFEST 2008 will feature even more variety than last year. We hope to solidify our show as the premiere showcase of a cappella music in the Midwest."

VOCAL CHAOS, made up of local Chicago and suburban residents, is one of the city’s most exciting and unique a cappella groups. You can see some of them in the Jennifer Aniston/Vince Vaughn movie, "The Break Up." They have been featured on WGN Radio’s "Sunday Morning Papers" program, with host Rick Kogan calling them "great." ACAPPELLAFEST and VOCAL CHAOS have been featured on WBEZ Chicago Public Radio's "Eight-Forty-Eight" radio program and in the Pioneer Press, a family of Chicago suburban newspapers.

Greg Vaden, co-producer of ACAPPELLAFEST and Director of elmoTHUMM, adds, "Jeff and I put ACAPPELLAFEST together for a cappella fans in the Midwest. We hope to receive support for the event in the years to come, making improvements along the way so that this becomes a mainstay event for all a cappella fans everywhere."

ELMOTHUMM, based in the Detroit area, has been performing rock-style a cappella for nearly 10 years. In 2006 they took the Chicago Regional Harmony Sweepstakes by storm, winning both 1st place honors and “Best Original Arrangement" award. They have performed along side a cappella legends The Nylons and performed for the President of the United States. Their theater production is hailed as a "must see" by the Detroit News.

ACAPPELLAFEST intends to ignite the palate of music lovers everywhere, providing a great way for fans to see favorite a cappella groups all in one place and breathe new life into their appreciation for great music and engaging entertainment. The show is co-produced by ELMOTHUMM and VOCAL CHAOS. ACAPPELLAFEST is provided in part by a grant from the Jonathan A. Minkoff A cappella Award and CASA, The Contemporary A cappella Society of America.
