Fame
Being admired for a stage performance is one of the best feelings in the world, right up there with knowing you handled it the way you'd want someone you admire to handle you. The Golden Rule never felt so good. Don't forget it.
(Note: this is not to say that having undergarments of a certain sort land on the stage is not also great... but that's really not my point here at all.)
Fame is a power you're given for no really good reason. Don't squander it, and don't take it for granted. Aim to do good with it.
Getting along
Writing down your expectations will be worth much more than the (considerable) time it takes.
Most time and energy spent disagreeing is time and energy spent moving backwards. Better to pick a point of agreement, at random if need be, and just go with it. There will be other battles. Save your energy for the concerts.
Running things
Splitting everything as evenly as you can manage and then forgetting about it avoids way more headaches than it causes.
Money is usually a dumb reason for most of the decisions you'll make in a band, but you'll do it that way anyway.
The Big Picture
What's important at 20-something is different from what's important at 30-something. Really different, and hard to explain.
There's a difference between ten years' experience and one years' experience repeated ten times. Unfortunately, if you're used to latter, you're probably blind to the former.
Dream big.
Plan accordingly.
Talk sense.
Do good.
...and sleep well.
