Pure voices, pure purpose: JAMAA Winner organizes CD sales to bring clean water to Honduras

Though she already has her diploma in hand, Chelsey Reardon’s Marblehead High School Senior Project continues, not that she minds. After all, there is a lot more at stake from her efforts than a few class credits.
The first part of her project, creating a CD of top-notch a cappella music, is complete. But now her challenge is to sell 300 copies of that CD, entitled “A Cappella for the World,” at $15 each to raise $4,500, which will provide 64 Honduran families with clean drinking water. Look for her during this weekend’s Festival of the Arts, during which she hopes to set up a table at Crocker Park. The CDs are also available at Arnould Gallery on Washington Street.
....MHS choral director Amanda Roeder helped Chelsey access a grant of close to $2,000 through the Contemporary A Cappella Society known as the Jonathan A. Minkoff Award, which paid for the recording.
