Overbrook Music Program Barrels Through Boston |

Page 1 of 2 The Overbrook Senior High School Music Program took part in the Festivals of Music Competition in Boston on April 18 and 19 and came home winners in almost all categories. The Jazz Band took 1st Place in Division AAA, Concert Band took 2nd Place in Division A, Overtones (Overbrook's Select Choir) took 1st Place in Division AA, Concert Choir took 1st Place in Division A and the Overbrook Barbershop Quartet also took 1st Place.
In addition to those awards, the Overtones came home with the Best Overall Mixed Choir with a Superior rating, the Barbershop Quartet won Best Overall Choir (other than mixed), the Jazz Band won Best Overall Jazz Ensemble, the Jazz Band Rhythm Section won Best Overall Section and Ron Bodanza won Best Soloist (Piano).
The Festival hosted bands and choirs from five states including a Blue Ribbon School from Falls Church, Virginia. The Overbrook Band is directed by Brian Height and the Overbrook Choir is directed by Art McKenzie.
