Weekend singing sessions often evolve into alcohol-laden renditions of Creed songs. Saturday night, however, is a different scene entirely.
Hellacappella, a yearly event aimed at featuring the student a cappella groups in Northern California, hits Freeborn Hall at 7:30 p.m. The show is hosted by UC Davis' only all-female a cappella group The Spokes. But while they may be the only locals performing this weekend, they are only one of the six student a cappella groups that can be found singing around Davis.
Patty Allen, a fifth-year senior majoring in women and gender studies, said that the number of a cappella collectives on campus is quite large compared to that of other schools.
