Eugene’s Johanna Vinson, 23, will appear at least one more time in the third season of NBC’s “The Sing-Off” as a member of a cappella supergroup Delilah, airing Monday night at 8 p.m.

Her pipes are roaring on TV, but her lips are sealed as to the show’s finalists, whom she is not allowed to reveal.

“The Sing-Off” is a musical competition show that features a cappella groups in a weekly elimination format. Season 3 features 16 groups from across the country who will be competing for $200,000 and a record deal. The show’s panel of judges includes performers Sara Bareilles, Ben Folds and Shawn Stockman.

Vinson, a former University of Oregon student, said the show was challenging and had an impact on her.

“It’s a constant, relentless task, and it’s really difficult, but it’s definitely the best thing I’ve ever done,” she said. “It’s not really a competition because you love everybody else and you’re crushed for your friends that they didn’t make it through.”

The show began shooting in July and wrapped up in September in Los Angeles. Vinson said workdays could begin as early as 8 a.m. and last until midnight.

“Group rehearsals, more rehearsals, music selection, wardrobe, more rehearsals,” Vinson said. “It’s overwhelming.”
