Full of pizazz and dressed in bling, they came from across the country and around the world — each woman working to find perfect pitch and listening for flawless harmony.

About 6,000 a cappella vocalists gathered in Denver last week for the 66th annual Sweet Adelines International Convention and Competition. More than 65 quartets and 40 choruses competed in the five-day event, singing their best barbershop harmonies in hopes of becoming the next choruses champion or "Queen of Harmony."

"Our members are dedicated and passionate," said Joey Mechelle Stenner, spokeswoman for Sweet Adelines. "It's inspiring the lengths our members will go through to convene with their friends from all over the world."
