NORWAY - Filipino choral group A Capella Manila opened its 2013 Goodwill Concert tour at Aasiden church in Drammen, a city just outside the Norwegian capital of Oslo.

Already on its 5th year in its European Tour, the choral group continues its mission to reach out to overseas Filipino workers abroad, promoting peace and goodwill and projecting a better image of the Philippines abroad.

In an interview with ABS-CBN Europe, A Capella Manila artistic director and choirmaster, Rodel Bugarin, fondly called Sir Odie, says the group decided to embark on international concert tours with the Filipino overseas workers in mind.

Bugarin also said that the mission of their group has always been to take care of the Filipino communities and be able to give back to them by way of music.

Bugarin explained that this is the idea behind their Handog, Lakbay, Awit Project, to stage free choral concerts in different countries by singing to the Filipino communities abroad. While the concerts are free, donations are welcome and the group sells their CDs to Filipino communities whenever they are on tour every two years.
