Decadence
Decadence (dek-uh-dense), founded in September 2010 by four SLU students, is a co-ed a cappella group based out of Saint Louis University. The name “Decadence” stems from two vital parts of our existence: “deca” from our ten original singers (plus one awesome beatboxer), and “cadence,” a musical term that describes the progression of two chords leading to closure within a musical composition. We perform a repertoire that spans many genres, including Rock, Pop, Oldies, Holiday, and R&B, at events both on and off campus.
We are unique in that all members have the opportunity to hold a leadership position as well as an equal opportunity to showcase their talents in group and solo performances. In addition, Decadence aims to participate in at least two volunteer opportunities a semester as part of our mission.
