This fall, CASA will launch its latest initiative, Harmony in the Halls, a program that forms and sponsors student a cappella groups in public high schools that have lost their music curriculum funding.
"More and more public school arts budgets are being cut every year. This unfortunate fact has created a great opportunity for CASA to step in and provide vocal music learning opportunities for high school students across the country," Says Greg Rubin, CASA Director of Development. "Harmony in the Halls will start in New York City during the 2011 - 2012 school year and will form and direct a number of a cappella groups in public schools throughout the city. This is a very exciting opportunity both for CASA and for New York City students interested in music."
The program will have its initial launch in New York City, and applications for the 2011-2012 inaugural year are currently being accepted for interested people who have experience in music education and/or a cappella direction.
