A CAPPELLA ARMAGEDDON ANNOUNCED
Competition for Collegiate A Cappella Groups Presented by Bristol Recording Studios In Boston

Bristol Recording Studios is searching for college a cappella groups to compete in the largest a cappella battle New England has ever seen.  The first annual A Cappella Armageddon incorporates the best of LIVE a cappella performances and the thrill of cutthroat competition to reward one group with national recognition and some amazing prizes!

“We've worked with so many a cappella groups over the years and we seem to work with more every year, we wanted to give back to the a cappella community.  This also offers an opportunity for some of the groups that have trouble affording studio time to win a substantial amount of time doing something that they love,” says Jason Blaske, studio manager of Bristol Recording Studios.

The competition invites collegiate a cappella groups to audition LIVE on November 4th, 5th and 6th  from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Bristol Recording Studios, 169 Mass Ave Boston for a chance to win studio recording time, incredible prizes and national recognition as being the best collegiate group in New England. Groups must register by October 28, 2011.  Auditions will be held in front of a panel of judges and live audience.  The top eight groups will be chosen to compete in the finals on December 4th. Fans will also have a say in who moves to the final round online at www.bristolstudios.com.

The final showdown on December 4th will take place at the famous Middle East Nightclub (downstairs), 472/480 Mass Ave in Cambridge. Winners will be chosen by a judging panel comprised of professionals from the a cappella community and the crowd, which will make up 25% of final judgment! Fans are welcomed and highly encouraged to join the event because the fans support determines who will be the final three.

“A Cappella Armageddon is the newest collegiate competition offering 8 Boston area a cappella groups a great opportunity to perform and compete for some fantastic prizes!,” says Amy Malkoff of CASA (Contemporary A Cappella Society), “Good luck to all the groups!.”

Jason Blaske also added, ‘We’re really excited about this, we've been wanting to do something like this for a while and I think this provides a fresh alternative to the many great a cappella competitions out there and it's really cool that we're able to do it at the Middle East, which is such a historic rock club.”

First, second and third place prizes will be awarded. First place package includes 25 hours of Studio Time (value of $2,625), gift cards to music retailer Daddy’s Junky Music, a spotlight in Bristol Studios’ newsletter distributed to 10,000 people, a chance to open at an upcoming Bristol Entertainment event and other prizes TBA.

Registration is only $20 per group.  Don’t let this opportunity pass you by, this competition is open to any collegiate a cappella group.  Groups can find out more and register online at http://www.bristolstudios.com by October 28, 2011. The top 8 groups will be chosen on Friday, November 11th and will be notified accordingly.
