A Capella means “in the manner of church” because it’s bare-bones vocal music that can be assembled wherever needed, so of course it makes perfect sense that a capella groups are some of the most irreverent musicians out there… Overboard were founded in Boston in 2006 and since then they’ve won many awards and even re-imagined The Beatle’s “Help!” as a concept album about the love story between Billy Shears and Eleanor Rigby. Like *all* a capella groups, they exude the dangerous excitement that suggests that they might pop up and serenade you at any time – brushing your teeth, out to dinner, who knows? It’s all part of the thrill. Nick Cox talks to Nick Girard about practicing in airports and their favorite gig memories.
