New York act's career feels YouTube bump
For those who still doubt the legitimate star-making possibilities of YouTube, consider the case of vocal group Naturally 7.
It was only a few years ago that the New York act was convinced by EMI brass to get on the Paris metro and perform the Phil Collins chestnut In the Air Tonight for a perplexed, rush-hour crowd.
It was a prime example of the group's intriguing singing techniques, which they have dubbed "vocal play."

An a capella choir in eastern Saudi Arabia composed of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) is gearing up to compete at the 5th World Choir games in Austria next month, ABS-CBN Middle East News Bureau reported.
The Al-Khobar-based Prime Note Ensemble won the top prize in the 4th World Choir Games in Xiamen, China two years ago.
As a result of this victory, Prime Note Ensemble is now preparing for the next competition in Graz, Austria slated for July 15.

Vocal Health Protocol
Maintaining Optimal Vocal Health:
If possible, optimize environment where voice is used.
- Increase or decrease use of absorbent materials to modify acoustics of environment.
- Control or reduce levels of ambient noise in and around area.
- Optimize layout of area to support voice use (e.g., eliminate barriers).
- Maintain adequate ventilation and humidity in area.
Warm up voice before use by performing vocal function exercises below.
- Hold /ee/ softly at F above middle C for females and F below middle C for males (or
at a comfortable mid-range speaking pitch if no piano is available) for as long as
possible. Repeat2 times.

The student center and other buildings on the Tiffin University campus are to echo with music Monday through Thursday as more than 50 students take part in the Heartland Vocal Camp for Jazz and Pop Singers.
“Most of them are from Ohio, but they’re coming from as far away as Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York,” said Brad Rees, head of Tiffin University’s music department.
Rees, Christian Secrist and Julio Appling, also instructors of the music department, are conducting workshops, along with artists-in-residence, the a cappella group, InPulse. New to the camp faculty this year is Deke Sharon, who is traveling from San Francisco.
