He jokes about “spitting for a living,” but professional beat boxer Jeff Thacher is a vocal percussion pioneer who has been instrumental at keeping the beat for one of today's best a cappella groups for nearly two decades.

He recently chatted with NH Weekend about returning with Rockapella to the Granite State for the ensemble's popular holiday concert, releasing a CD of Motown renditions early next year, and finding inspiration for new noises.
