HomeBack to basics with the BQPA

Does the idea of “four days of ‘do-it-yerself’ quartetting” whet your appetite?  Old songs, familiar arrangements, tags, some woodshedding, even music to read, if ya want.  Come on over to the spring quartetting festival of the Barbershop Quartet Preservation Association (BQPA/Pioneers) in Tempe, AZ, April 8-11, 2015.

Guys and gals whose passion is to sing in foursomes are more than welcome. We sing songs from the late 1800s to about the 1960s, in arrangements from the ’40s to perhaps the ’80s. Lots of tagging, too, but even more folks prefer to sing whole songs. No assignments, no pre-requisites – we sing the songs that YOU love to sing, 16 hours a day.  A pickup quartet contest on Friday evening and a quartet parade on Saturday night round out the festivities.
