Kinfolk9, the a cappella band of former teen star Antoinette Taus, is competing in the third season of yank singing contest "The Sing-Off."

Taus asked her twitter followers to observe the summer season premiere of "The Sing-Off", which aired on NBC on Monday (Tuesday in Manila).

"Tune straight into NBC tonight at 8pm for that premiere of @thesingoff featuring my group @kinfolk9!!! ? #kinfolk9 #singoff,' said Taus, that is now located in the United States.

Considered one of her celebrity friends in Manila, Fil-Australian actress-host Anne Curtis, congratulated Taus on her achievement.

"Congratulations & best of luck sis!!!" the "Showtime" host tweeted.

"The Sing-Off" can be a competition among 16 a cappella groups. The winning group walks away with $100,000 along with a recording contract with Sony Music, according to the show's website.

The show is hosted by recording artist Nick Lachey, who rose to fame as a person in boy band 98 Degrees.

Celebrity judges include Ben Folds (frontman of alternative rockband Ben Folds Five), Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men and singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles.

Taus is renowned for her role as Karen Duarte in horror film "Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara."

Her brother, former child star Tom Taus, is currently building a reputation for himself in Hollywood as being a DJ.
