Well, nothing new in Czech (acapella show in radio Proglas twice a month). It will be nice to start some international project ... Ideas? How about some group exchange meetings? Or some jam sessions, it can be fun! Maybe we will try something .

"Dear Friends of vocal and gospel music,

let me inform you about (and invite you to) the concert of GESHEM acappella group at YMCA Europe 2008 Festival on August 6 evening. (The main stage in Trade Fair Pague).

GESHEM is vocal choir of 25 singers based in Prague (Czech Republic) performing especially Afro-American Spirituals and also Taize and Hebrew songs. From the year 2000 we had over 150 concerts in various festivals (Febiofest, One World), single concerts or concerts in cooperation with other interpreters (I. Budweiserová, Lee A. Davison or Wits Choir, SA), on formal occasions (State Holiday of SA, concert in the Czech Parliament or in the Prague Castle Palace Gardens). We have stopped at many places during our musical journeys: churches, chapels, cultural centres, hospitals, elderly houses, a psychiatric institution and even the prison, but also at museums and castles all over Bohemia.

GESHEM is the organizer of Afro-American spirituals festival hold in Prague every September, this year under the name Spiritual Fest 2008. GESHEM CD of Afro-American spirituals is called Wade In The Water.

GESHEM (in Hebrew means „rain“) wants to be all good what the rain brings to thirsty hearts and souls, attentive ears. It wants to bring joy, pleasure, encouragement, it wants to awake hope and enhance it.
