You’re a new director of an a cappella group.  You have big plans for failure.  You don’t want your rehearsals to get in the way of your planned downfall.  Follow the suggestions below to waste time, harbor resentment, and guarantee total dysfunction.

As Fall begins and the leaves start changing colors, high school and college a cappella groups similarly turn over a new leaf, bringing in many new members.  During this time of transition and new beginnings, how can a director build camaraderie among this funny new mix of people?  How can you involve new people while still taking advantage of the wisdom of your returning members?

It seems a lot of people are discussing auditions lately.  We've got lots of great League groups that are forming or growing, and scholastic groups are only weeks away from the new school year.  In that vein, I wanted to throw out a couple resources for those who are currently planning auditions.
