Thank you for your interest in becoming a CASA Ambassador. Ambassadors serve for one year and are evaluated for continuation in or around December.
The duties are split into Primary and Secondary activities. Primary duties are those that are required to be an Ambassador. We ask that you also complete at least two Secondary duties throughout the year. Feel free to complete any additional Secondary duties that strike your fancy! Duties noted with a star(*) are coming soon.
Primary Duties
TECHNOLOGY
- Update Acapedia with most recent information on all local groups (include high school, collegiate, CAL, amateur, and pro)
- Update CASA Events Calendar with local events
- Maintenance of casa.org/STATE website which is your "Embassy" headquarters (International ambassadors may have your own website/orgs, we're looking for ways to alias casa.org/InternationalLocale to your site)
PROGRAMS
- Connect scholastic groups with adult groups in your area or locale
- Communicate with local CASA member groups (CAL and regular groups)
- Promote CASA festivals to your local community
- Participate as nominator for at least a single category in the CARAS
COMMUNITY
- Increase CASA membership through Embassy. Required: The acquisition of one new member per calendar year
- Support and attend local events
- Establish relationships with a cappella-friendly performance venues in area
COMMUNICATIONS
- Communicate with locals about CASA services at least Monthly, prefer weekly/biweekly
- Report important/unique events and projects to the Ambassador Program Manager
- Ensure all local groups are aware of CASA awards (CARAs and ACAs) and submit as appropriate. Check in with awards coordinators to ensure completion.
- Write articles about local events for Web posting and the CASA newsletter
- Forward/repost CASA Newsletter to increase membership and information outreach
ADMINISTRATIVE
- Maintain a CASA.org web account
- Submit formal report on events/progress to Ambassador PM at least quarterly
- Become and stay well-versed in the various types and benefits of membership with CASA
- Work with CASA leadership to encourage groups to join continually, answer questions for them, etc. Generally, be a brand representative and promoter for CASA
- Participate at least once monthly on ambassador e-mail list with questions and status updates
Secondary Duties
TECHNOLOGY
- Friend/Like local groups in their area on Facebook
- Follow/Interact with local groups on Twitter
PROGRAMS
- Identify and help recruit new talent (performers and administrative) for CASA
- Get certified as local coach*
- Volunteer for CASA festivals (virtual or onsite)
- Liaise with CAL Program Manager to help encourage new/existing local groups to join CAL
COMMUNITY
- Establish community sings/events as feasible in the area; help book collaborative gigs with multiple area groups
COMMUNICATIONS
- Recommend potential volunteers in their area to the Volunteer Program Manager
- Take photographs at local events to post to CASA.org
- Identify good writers/contributors for CASAcademy, send to CASAcademy Program Manager
ADMINISTRATIVE
- Field local and regional requests as needed from CASA Web Content Program Manager
