AcappellaFest

Executive Producer: Lindsey McGowen

-------

ACF 2013: October 12 in Chicago, IL

ACappellaFest is one of the newest stars in CASA's stable of events, bringing everything you love about SoJam, LAAF, BOSS, and VoCALnation to the heart of the Midwest. Join us in Chicago this October as we descend upon The Windy City for a weekend packed with workshops, performances, and fun!

Hosted at the University of Chicago by Men in Drag

Stretch your brain on Saturday as you take in a day of workshops taught by the who's who of the international a cappella community in addition to an amazing showcase of Midwest a cappella. As though that weren't enough, Saturday night brings a professional showcase featuring groups even your mom has heard of. Join us for workshops, masterclasses, and discussions all designed to help you or your group hone your skills on and off the stage and get your group to have the best year ever (and that's not an understatement). Grab your all-access pass for all of this as well as a few other surprises that are sure to pop up along the way. (Can you say acabombs?)

If the networking hasn't been mentioned, it's because it absolutely goes without mentioning at any and all CASA festivals. This festival will give you an opportunity to make friends and connect with people on a global scale. ACappellaFest is bringing CASA to the Midwest. Will you be there?

Lindsey McGowen, the AcappellaFest 2013 Executive Producer, originally hails from the great city of Chicago, and started her a cappella career in high school as a founding member of Solace, at Glenbrook South High School in 1999. She went on to found Solstice, at Case Western Reserve University, and upon moving to Detroit in 2006, founded two CAL groups: Two Weeks Notice, and The Seekers. Lindsey is an avid arranger, an ICCA & ICHSA judge and producer, has a penchant for seeing songs in color, and a special place in her heart for lady-a cappella. Professionally, she is a Business Analyst in the software industry, and in her spare time enjoys all things related to Japan, vintage jazz dances, and being a giant nerd.
