Two Weeks Notice is a contemporary a cappella group based in Metro Detroit offering high-energy rockbandstyle performance of popular music using only the human voice. Styled after professional a cappella groups, Two Weeks Notice performs from a wide array of genres, making performances both accessible totheir listening audience and enhancing and promoting the art form of contemporary a cappella.
The members of Two Weeks Notice are a mix of classically and traditionally trained vocalists, with vocal jazz, musical theatre, operatic, and contemporary a cappella backgrounds. Through the previous groups they were associated with, our members draw on a diverse vocal music genome that includes noted Michigan choral ensemble Ars Nova, collegiate contemporary a cappella alumni from Eastern Michigan University, The University of Michigan, and Case Western Reserve University, as well as other vocal groups from across the United States and the world.
Two Weeks Notice was formed in 2007 as a member group of the Contemporary A Cappella Society's (CASA) Contemporary A Cappella League. The Contemporary A Cappella League was conceived by CASA founder and well-known a cappella arranger and performer Deke Sharon as a collaborative organization of post-collegiate singers and groups across the country. As a member group, Two Weeks Notice promotes vocal music in high school and college through workshops and other outreach activities and public concerts.
