sing 11: One LouderCASA and the sing Committee are pleased to announce the songs selected for the organization’s album 2014 compilation, sing 11: One Louder.

The sing Series, now in its 11th year, shines the spotlight on the year’s best art and work in contemporary a cappella. The international sing Committee has put together a full 20 track album along with three bonus tracks which sweeps across genres, covers versus originals and group diversity.

Sing 11: One Louder is truly a full story taking the listener from an alt-rock wake-up call from California’s House Jacks cross pollinated with an assist from Singapore’s MICappella on “As It Falls Apart” and closing with a lush unreleased cover of A Great Big World’s “Say Something (Such Great Heights)” from the Yellowjackets (University of Rochester).

This year, sing also includes tracks from back-to-back ICCA finalist the G-Men (University of Michigan) and back-to-back ICHSA winner and Sing Off runner-up Vocal Rush (Oakland School for the Arts) alongside eight original tracks.

The album is available for free download by CASA members or on Loudr, iTunes, Spotify or Amazon.

The series began in 2004 when Dave Sperandio, founder of the Alliance for A Cappella Initiatives (AACI), created it as one of the organization's primary initiatives. Once smaller in its scope, the sing series quickly developed into a yearly collection of some of the world's finest and most diverse vocal music. In addition to collegiate and professional groups from the United States, the albums now feature talent from high schools across the country and internationally acclaimed professional a cappella groups and bands.

This year's sing Committee culled through more than 1200 songs from around the globe which is a new sing high and speaks the growth of cappella music this year.
